Let me wish everyone a good and healthy upcoming New Year!!  This continues to be a quiet time of the year but there are major milestones just ahead in January.

Apple continues to be plagued by software issues across all its platforms.  iOS and iPadOS 13 are Apple’s buggiest releases ever.  Apple keeps releasing updates/bug corrections frequently (along with updates to MacOS use don their computers).  Since most Apple “point releases” are primarily patches, my recommendation is to install them when released (there rarely include new features).

Meanwhile, Microsoft released the latest Windows 10 build, version 1909, last month.  Version 1909 is different from previous Windows 10 builds as it is more bug fixes than a new version.  It is a smaller download (several hundred megs compared to over 4 gigs for a typical Windows version) that is easy to install.  The good news is that there are few issues with version 1909, so I would recommend that you backup your PC, download 1909 and install it.  I am not writing a version 1909 review since it has a software update, not a new Windows release.  Most users will not notice any new features, but it is more stable compared to the previous version 1903.

While celebrating 2020, be aware that Microsoft is ending support for Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 and Small Business Server 2008.  If you use any of these products, there will be no more bug and security fixes after January 2020.  These unsupported systems will not receive any support from software vendors either like Microsoft, Google, Adobe, Norton etc.  You should migrate off these platforms to newer, supported, secure platforms like Windows 10, Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2019 Essentials and Office 365.  You may also want to consider investing in newer hardware too.  The biggest challenge is ensuring that your applications, data and business transition seamlessly.  I can help you to ensure a smooth move if you need assistance.
